Label Showcase: Spinning Top
In an effort to support as many Australian and Sydney artists as our platform allows during this time, we’re introducing a new series in which we take a deep dive into some of our favourite local independent labels. Telling the stories of their history, breaking down essential releases, hearing from key players and more. The third episode in the series boasts Spinning Top head Jodie Regan breaking down the importance of treating your artists like family, the birth of the label as a necessity and navigating a post Tame Impala world. TRACKS PLAYED: Tame Impala - 'Desire Be, Desire Go' Mink Mussel Creek - 'They Dated Steadily' Tame Impala - 'Half Full Glass of Wine' Pond - 'Moth Wings' Pond - 'Giant Tortoise' Gum - 'Gemini' Pond - 'Elegant Design' Gum - 'Anaestethised Lesson' Peter Bibby - 'Work for Arseholes' Peter Bibby - 'Medicine' Gunns - 'She's A Rainbow' Like a book club for music nerds, For The Record takes a deep dive into a different album each week that we think is worthy of your love and attention.
